Managing a celebrity lifestyle is not a tale for kids. Apart from family and friends, celebrities are the most loved people on the surface of this earth. We look up to them as we have followed their progress and have seen them go through challenges in their respective areas and have succeeded in them. This is why they are celebrated across the world. Celebrities are like mentors to fans, and for others, they are reference points.

All these count for the structures that a celebrity lifestyle should possess. However, being a celebrity can be tasking, and when mismanaged, things could get rough. As the saying goes, “big man, big trouble”. This emphasizes the importance of responsibility and self-control.

Whenever a celebrity trends on social media, it is mostly a result of a good or bad incident relating to that celebrity. This is why the search section on Twitter gets so many visits – the trends are there for us to see. What is happening in the world? Who is in trouble? Who is being celebrated? What trend do we have for the day, week, or month? As important as these answers are to social media enthusiasts, it is also important to celebrities.

This is why I have put together some tips for living a celebrity lifestyle.

Be straight forward

Being confused kills your career as a celebrity. If you follow a particular, stick to it, or you would have to try hard enough to get people’s attention when you switch. An example of this trend is Slam, a gospel singer in Nigeria who switched to secular music. His career as an artiste made a u-turn- people didn’t know how to view his kind of music.

Treat people respectfully

Peruzzi‘s career almost took to negative turn when he slapped Pamilerin, a social media influencer. This went on for weeks as it trended widely on social media platforms. This could have earned him a fall if not for proper management. Seyi Shay, a popular artiste in Nigeria recently trended on Sunday on Twitter for telling a contestant on the ongoing Nigerian Idol auditions that he would not make it as a singer – her words exactly. She got it hot from people.

Have standards

One time “King of Pop”, R. Kelly is facing child pornography and obstruction charges, and this has put his career on an abrupt and long-lasting hold. Hopefully, he can get through this one and still keep his fans.

You’re not perfect

If there is one thing celebrities are loved for, it is their real nature. Rihanna gets so much love, and she is not a perfect person. Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, and so many others have made it known that they are not so perfect, but they keep getting so much love from fans. You don’t have to play God. Stay true to yourself.

Stay consistent

No matter how big or successful or “not yet successful” you are, consistency should be your keyword. All songs do not have to be hits. Consistency in delivering standards sets you apart most times.
