How to take care of your skin. 8 sure tips

Healthy skin doesn't happen by accident. You have to actively care for it.
How to take care of your skin

As our skin is the first thing the world sees, we all want our skin to look good. If your skin is clear and healthy-looking, it makes you feel good about yourself; it makes you like biology a little more, and it makes you look through the pages of magazines without that teeny weeny dose of anger.

Good skincare choices can help delay the natural aging process and prevent various skin problems. So, how do you get great-looking skin? Easy peasy. Here are a few tips on how to take care of your skin.

1. Shield your skin from the sun

Too much exposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, spots, acne, and, not to mention, the C-word (Cancer). The safest way to protect yourself from skin problems caused by the sun is to stay out of the sun as much as possible. The sun sends UV rays that can cause damage to your skin if you don’t protect it against them.

2. Don’t smoke

You know what they say -“smokers are liable to die young.” It really is that bad. Smoking makes your skin look older, darker, and contributes to wrinkles. According to a 2019 study published by the National Research Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, tobacco smoking could affect the biophysical parameters of the skin – especially thickness and density of dermis and epidermis, and nasolabial folds.

3. Moisturize

If you have dry skin most of the time, try moisturizing your skin. Your skin needs a certain amount of oil (sebum) to keep it balanced, healthy, and soft.

4. Shave carefully

Take some time to shave carefully. Remember to shave in the direction of hair growth, and not against it.

5. Avoid harsh soaps

Harsh soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Choose mild cleansers instead.

6. Eat healthily

You are a reflection of what you eat. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Remember to drink lots of water as well.

7. Manage stress levels

This is because stress causes your body to produce hormones, which tells your sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Oily skin is more prone to acne and other skin problems. Stress can also worsen skin problems.

8. Drink lots of water

Water keeps your skin hydrated and this prevents it from getting too dry.

There you have it. 8 sure tips to help you get your glow on.
