Preparing for Production
The PQPP2 team uncovered a compelling story during their online interactions—an exposé on an internet scammer preying on unsuspecting victims through a fake profile. Recognizing its potential as a documentary subject, they aimed to shed light on the shadowy world of online scams and offer insight into their operations. However, bringing this story to life presented a logistical challenge: they needed to travel from Germany to Nigeria to fully explore and prepare it for production.Â
PQPP2 Meets Talku Talku
Recognizing their challenge, Johanna Rose-Jastram, head of Redaktion at PQPP2, reached out to our team at Talku Talku for assistance. Following a free consultation session, we identified the pain points: the production’s spontaneity, the need for guidance on Nigerian visa application, inability to travel with equipment due to safety and insurance reasons, and the necessity for similar quality equipment in Nigeria. Additionally, they sought smooth transportation and logistics throughout production.
How we supported PQPP2 to win in Nigeria
Our initial step was to collaborate with PQPP2 to establish the project’s premise and outline priorities. Once confirmed that their team could travel to Nigeria, we initiated the logistics planning. We segmented the project into core components, allowing us to identify key pillars crucial for success. Using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), we meticulously detailed tasks and deliverables required for each core aspect of the project.
We engaged local partners for equipment rentals and contracted private transport services to accommodate the production’s specific needs, including security and communication requirements. Every detail, down to acquiring local SIM cards for communication and internet access, was meticulously addressed in our WBS.
With our dedicated project manager and support team, we collaborated closely with PQPP2 to ensure all specifications, standards, and quality expectations were met.
Bringing it home
As our team escorted them to the airport, Johanna and the PQPP2 members felt a profound sense of achievement. What initially seemed like a daunting task was now tangible content, safely stored on hard drives to be transported back to Germany. There, it would be crafted into a compelling narrative, bringing the European audience closer to a story produced in a world thousands of kilometers away.
